Jovon McKinley, a 2006 honor graduate of Varnado, signed a full scholarship to play basketball at Paul Quinn College in Houston recently.

McKinley joined the United States Marines and proudly served his country for four years upon graduation. He looks forward to playing basketball in college and plans to major in physical education to eventually become a basketball coach.

At Varnado, he was coached by Lubertha Peters, Paul Meyerchick and Herman Walton. McKinley is the son of Renee Foster of Bogalusa and Lesley McKinley of Angie.
