Hannan Post 16 went on to win the second game 14-4.
“We fell apart at the end of both games,” Pine head coach Blake Dillon said. “We haven’t found out how to close a game yet. Our pitching gets wild and we fall apart with errors. One big inning kills you in baseball every time.”

Andrew Brumfield took the loss for Pine.
Hannan’s Caleb Clark lined pass third to score the game’s first run in the second inning. Brumfield struck out Justin Laurent but walked Brett Powell to load the bases and Jordan Scallan beat out a grounder to add two runs.
Brumfield struck out Dillon Manchia to get out of the inning after walking Bruce DiMartro to load the bases again.
Hess retired the next nine Raiders in order, striking out Brad Cooper and Quinton Spears to open the bottom of the second.
Hess lined pass short to lead off the third and Alex Lobie reached to put runners on the corners but first baseman T. J. Taylor turned a double play to third baseman Cooper on Ryan Gravelot’s grounder to shortstop Trevor Stuart and Brumfield struck out Clark to go unscathed.
Hess drew a walk to lead off the fifth and Brumfield hit Lobie. Courtesy runner Jacob Brooks stole home two outs later to put Hannan a head 5-0.
Brumfield lined a double inside the third base line into the corner to put runners in scoring position in the bottom half after David Hunt was hit with two outs.
Cody Cooper beat out a grounder to short to put Pine on the board before another run scored when courtesy runner Tu Nguyen looked to be caught in a rundown.
Powell lined in front of center to open the fifth and Scallan reached on an error before DiMartro drew a walk to load the bases. Mason Nickens grounded through third’s legs scoring two runs and Brumfield walked Hess and Derek Morel to plate another.
Hunter Cooper stuck out Gravelot, the first batter he faced, but the wheels continued to fall off for Pine.
Thomas Sens picked up the win in the second game for the Hawks limiting Pine to three hits in six innings.
